SEL is announcing a Last-Time Buy (LTB) for the SEL-2910. It will no longer be available for purchase after August 30, 2024. We recommend using SEL fiber-optic transceivers in its place.
The SEL-2910 is used to protect the EIA-232 ports of data terminal or data communications equipment from the effects of induced voltages. It increases the data reliability by breaking the path for ground loops. If long runs of EIA-232 cables through harsh electrical environments are necessary, the SEL-2910 can provide isolation. It is powered directly from the data lines.
